We’re passionate about traveling and making an impact.

Meet Keith

I grew up on the south side of Indianapolis and attended Indiana University, Bloomington, majoring in Business: Marketing/Advertising. After two years working in Miami, FL, for a major department store chain as a buyer of men’s clothing, I volunteered for the US Navy. With my business education and experience, I was assigned to the Supply Corps, then accepted into the Submarine Corps, where I served for seven years - at sea, in the shipyard, and for the Trident program. Upon leaving the service, I was employed by a defense contractor, managing and negotiating contracts with the Navy.

After a few years, I left the corporate world to enter Virginia Theological Seminary (Episcopal). Following ordination to the priesthood, I served three congregations – two in Louisville, KY; and one in Gwynedd, PA. While serving as Dean of Christ Church Cathedral and Rector of Church of the Messiah, I planned, arranged and led several parish pilgrimages and mission trips to varied destinations: Israel/Palestine, England, Ireland, Scotland, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and the Oberammergau Passion Play in Bavaria.

After thirty-five years of ordained ministry, I retired from active ministry. Still possessed by a love of travel, as well as enjoying leading people to expand their spiritual lives through the experiences of different cultures and exploring places that deepened their understanding and faith, I founded Spirited Pilgrimages. It is my hope that people of faith continue to be enriched through the experiences and insights I can offer and share on the pilgrim’s path.

Meet Deb

As an Air Force “brat”, Deb grew up traveling the world. She was born in Bermuda; lived in the Washington, DC area; early school years in Ankara, Turkey; out west in Cheyenne, WY and Great Falls, MT; then graduated from high school at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Upon returning to the US, she attended Rosemont College in Philadelphia and graduated with a BSN from the nursing program at Towson State University in Baltimore.

After serving three years in the Air Force Nurse Corps, she continued to work in hospitals in Rhode Island, Virginia, and Kentucky, in areas such as  ICU, CCU, and home health services. Her final years before retirement were spent working as a telephonic case manager. She retired in 2022.

After meeting while they were both in the services, Deb and Keith married in 1982 and have two grown children, Trevor, and Lauren, married to Nick. Deb continues to enjoy the adventures that traveling brings and often accompanies Keith on pilgrimages.
